Windy weekend ahead
The rain has passed, but county residents can expect the
gusty winds to linger.
Northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph will continue through the
day, slowing Saturday and Sunday, according to forecasters.
A ridge of high pressure will continue to build over California
this weekend, producing offshore winds that will translate
into cool mornings but warmer afternoons, according to a forecast
by John Lindsey, a marine meteorologist at Diablo Canyon nuclear
power plant.
Waves along the coastline are expected to be 10 to 12 feet
through today and remain large throughout the weekend.
Clear skies and mostly sunny days will welcome the weekend,
with temperatures hovering in the 50s.
The cold front that passed through Thursday produced 0.17
inches of rain at Diablo Canyon, Lindsey reported.
The National Weather Service is predicting a 20 percent chance
of showers again Jan. 11.
